Political scientist Alexey Yakubin said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Most likely, we will see further demonization, discrediting of Saakashvili and an attempt to deport him at Christmas. I think that for now the authorities are still adhering to this plan, hoping that, perhaps, at least here they will be able to bring the matter to an end. Not to be deported to Georgia, obviously, because the government promised its Western partners that Saakashvili would retain his immunity and nothing would happen to him. But to Poland or, most likely, to the Netherlands, where Saakashvili’s wife has citizenship,” Yakubin said.
Saakashvili will be deported to the Netherlands to be with his wife on Christmas Eve.
