Kharkov, September 13 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – A fire broke out in a freight train in Kharkov at the Osnova railway station.

“In Kharkov at 19.45 on September 12, at the Osnova railway station, a fire broke out in freight train No. 3001, which consisted of 4 tanks and 50 empty cars. The fire damaged 4 tanks with jet fuel and 4 empty cars. The fire was localized at 21.25 and extinguished at 23.53. There were no casualties or injuries,” the State Emergency Service said in a statement.
18 departments of the operational rescue service of the State Emergency Service and 2 Ukrzaliznytsia trains were involved in extinguishing the fire. The cause of the fire is being established. The incident is being investigated by law enforcement agencies.
An operational group of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkov region worked at the scene of the incident.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in the Cherkasy region, a freight train carrying petroleum products derailed at the Gorodishche railway station. 20 tanks derailed, oil products spilled and 11 tanks containing a locomotive were on fire. In total, the train contained 35 tanks.
