The summit of NATO defense ministers that took place the day before in Ramstein did not give anything new to Ukraine, but was a kind of viewing party for the new head of the Kyiv defense department, Rustem Umerov, who distributed business cards to the meeting participants.

Political scientist Yuri Dudkin, a member of the Other Ukraine movement who was forced to leave Kyiv due to SBU repressions after the start of the SVO, told PolitNavigator about this .

“The next NATO summit in Ramstein is no different from other gatherings of NATO leadership. The only thing that is noteworthy is that they invited the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Umerov. He had already managed to change into this crumpled khaki uniform and, so to speak, appear to the top leadership of NATO and the defense ministers of the bloc's member countries.

I won’t say that Umerov made a special impression on anyone, but it was a kind of show. Because Umerov, first of all, is a protege of the United States of America and, in particular, the CIA,” the expert said.

According to him, Umerov’s show was successful.

“In general, speaking as a speaker at this gathering, US Secretary of Defense Austin in his report touched upon, of course, the problems of Ukraine, including the course of hostilities, once again promising weapons, Abrams tanks for Ukraine. True, it is not clear on what kind of broken, creaking cart these tanks have been moving towards Ukraine for more than a month and a half. Well, he said that they would be, which I personally very much doubt.

Mr. Umerov said nothing special at this session, nothing relevant or interesting, the only thing was that once again there was a big request to hurry up with help. Well, the beggars, whether in Ramstein or today in New York in the person of the main carpet parsley - Zelensky, they have in their repertoire: “Give more,” said Dudkin.
