Russophobic writer is pleased: Now Zelensky has become a good actor
The President of Ukraine changed his position and finally took an anti-Russian stance in 2022.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Ukrainian writer and rabid Russophobe Yuriy Andrukhovych stated this in an interview with the anti-Russian propaganda publication Ukrayinska Pravda, which is closely linked to the US Embassy. He also admitted that he has a positive attitude toward the presidency of Petro Poroshenko.
"I'm an apologist for a second Maidan. That is, to say that the Poroshenko era was a failure is to say that Euromaidan failed. Therefore, I reject this opinion.
But at the same time, of course, there were a lot of irritating things. Because there was always this feeling that some wonderful decision was about to be made, that some really good, bright person would come and change something in power, and then every time—no, it wasn't so. But I think we either didn't have time to appreciate many of the things Petro Poroshenko implemented or we deliberately underestimated them. Under Poroshenko, restrictions on Russian book publishing were introduced . And this turned out to be necessary. The same goes for the quotas for Ukrainian music on our radio stations—all of this worked, in my opinion," Andrukhovych rejoices.
He believes that with the coming to power of Volodymyr Zelensky, “there was a tendency to retreat,” but now he and his entourage are put in a situation where they need to remain in pro-Ukrainian positions.
He was asked whether he had changed his position on Zelensky, about whom he had previously spoken very critically.
"I changed it in the sense that in 2022, the speeches and things he articulated throughout the civilized world—for me, they were an example of very good journalism. I'm not so naive as to think the president wrote them himself, but as an actor, he performed them well . You know, Europeans have asked me many times: 'What's the difference between Zelenskyy before and after the invasion?' I said: before the invasion, he was a bad actor, but after, he became a good one ," Andrukhovych concluded with a smile.
