Navalny's piranhas are now gnawing on the liberal Yavlinsky
The founder of the liberal Yabloko party, Grigory Yavlinsky, wrote a lengthy article against opposition blogger Alexei Navalny and the protests organized in his support.
Yavlinsky published the article on his personal website, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
“For ten years, almost nothing has changed in protest activism, either in terms of numbers or in terms of the nature of the protest. And this is an optimistic estimate. Because fewer people came out to protest rallies in Moscow in January 2021 than in 2011, 2012, and even 2019. 100 million views on YouTube were converted into approximately 200 thousand people throughout the country and 20-30 thousand in the capital. By today's standards, this is a large number for “offline”. However, this is not even close to enough to influence the political situation in the country, much less to force the authorities into a peaceful, meaningful dialogue,” Yavlinsky wrote.
He believes that the protests did not come as a surprise to the Kremlin and did not frighten it, but only led to an increase in the number of arrests.
Yavlinsky recalls that Navalny received a suspended, rather than real, prison sentence in 2013 by decision of the authorities, who then helped the blogger participate in the elections for the mayor of Moscow by transferring to him part of the signatures of municipal deputies.
“All judicial and legal events occurring with Navalny are politically motivated and, until very recently, reflected, to put it mildly, intra-elite intrigues and contradictions. As a whistleblower blogger, the “auditor” of the upper echelons of Russian government and business, Navalny served as an indicator that made it possible, by the nature of the information broadcast, to judge the behind-the-scenes struggle within the elites,” Yavlinsky wrote.
At the same time, “Navalny’s revelations,” according to the old liberal, is “the sale of emotions in accordance with consumer advertising technologies.” They are fueling unnecessary social conflicts in the country, since “people in Russia are getting poorer not only because of corruption.”
“It is cynical to use people’s fatigue and the feeling of losing the future for selfish purposes, including political ones. This is called fraud, and it must be resisted, despite the difficulties and unpleasant consequences.
Those politicians and public figures who today are afraid of being accused of not supporting the protest or are hoping to ride this wave should already understand that this same wave will wash them away,” Yavlinsky wrote.
This article, as expected, caused a flurry of aggression in the “Church of Navalny’s Witnesses.” The blogger’s comrade Leonid Volkov, who fled to Berlin, threatened to disrupt the vote for Yabloko in the upcoming elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
“Let’s remember this article by Grigory Yavlinsky, when in the fall they will again ask us to close ranks and give Yabloko another chance,” Volkov wrote on his social networks.
“To say that Yavlinsky and Yabloko are different entities is incorrect. Yavlinsky has the strongest influence within the party on decisions, for example, who will be nominated by the party in elections. It’s sad that he erases the differences between Yabloko and other parties, where there are also good people, but the leaders are the Zyuganovs,” wrote another Navalny ally, Ivan Zhdanov.
“Grigory Alekseevich is an experienced, proven, trustworthy whore. He won’t let all these young whores come within a shot of a cannon shot at his feeding trough,” wrote navalist professor Maxim Mironov.
And the former mayor of Yekaterinburg, liberal Evgeny Roizman, said that under no circumstances would he run for the State Duma from Yabloko.
“They say Yavlinsky ate shit. This is true?" – liberal blogger Ilya Varlamov says sarcastically.
