A communist became the first vice-speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the LDPR has a committee on foreign affairs
The State Duma of the seventh convocation at its first plenary meeting elected 8 vice-speakers. The first deputy chairmen were Alexander Zhukov (United Russia) and Ivan Melnikov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation).
The vice-speakers were four representatives of United Russia (Sergei Neverov, Vladimir Vasiliev, Irina Yarovaya, Pyotr Tolstoy), one representative each from the LDPR (Igor Lebedev) and A Just Russia (Olga Epifanova).

Chairmen of 26 committees were also appointed according to a “package agreement”: half of the posts were given to United Russia, half to the opposition.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation in the seventh convocation received the posts of chairmen in five committees, which is one less than it had in the sixth Duma. Deputy Leonid Kalashnikov headed the Committee on CIS Affairs.
The LDPR in the new convocation managed to achieve chairmanship in one of the key State Duma committees - on international affairs, which was previously headed by United Russia members. It was received by Leonid Slutsky, who previously headed the CIS Committee. “A Just Russia” had three committees in this convocation.
