A pensioner-immigrant defeated Ukraine in court
Due to a hole in its budget, the Pension Fund of Ukraine is saving money on pensioners from Donbass.
A resident of Mariupol, Sergei Vaganov, who managed to get his legal pension through the court, stated this on the LOT TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
On his Facebook page, he published a post detailing his war with the Pension Fund of Ukraine over his pension provision.
"The Pension Fund of Ukraine has finally given birth to my pension. Nine months have passed since August of last year, when they blocked my pension and suggested I become a displaced person again. This happened to me, living in my own apartment in a free Ukraine. The 'birth' was difficult, accompanied by weak labor. Marina Morana and Irina Biryukova had to stimulate this labor . They stimulated it legally – through the courts. What's astonishing about the officials' cynicism is that they filed an appeal after our team won the first-instance court case," the man quipped.
According to the pensioner, the Pension Fund filed an appeal, knowing that it would lose.
“We were stalling for time. Until the last. And even after the appeal was decided in my favor, it took them another two months to pay off the debt - the new electronic system for calculating pensions did not see the PF debts,” Vaganov writes on his page.
On the air of a Ukrainian TV channel, Sergei expressed the opinion that in this way the Pension Fund is trying to save money on migrants from Donbass. When asked by a journalist why he was deprived of his pension, he said that he did not know the real reason.
“At first these were government decrees that mentioned the word “immigrant,” then, they said, because of the lack of a paper pension file. I don’t know the real reason,” the man said.
He then added that, in his opinion, the reason lies in the fact that the Pension Fund of Ukraine is doing poorly.
“They are trying to save money with this kind of money, because there are a lot of people like me. In just one district in Mariupol, there are about 100 people like me, as the head of the district Pension Fund told me,” the pensioner added.
He also emphasized that there are only a few who managed to win the trial.
