Parubiy bargains with the West for another handout
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy wants to bargain with the IMF for a deferment on raising gas prices for the population in exchange for the creation in Ukraine of a controlled Anti-Corruption Court, which is believed to be controlled by the US Embassy and will “rein in” the Ukrainian elite.
Parubiy stated this on the Ukrainian TV channel “1+1”.

“The IMF puts the creation of an Anti-Corruption Court as its No. 1 issue. I will tell you information that may be confidential, I am conducting very intensive negotiations with the IMF and the GXNUMX countries that if we manage to pass a law on the Anti-Corruption Court, we will have the opportunity, having received the trust of the IMF, to agree on a phased or deferred raising tariffs. We are working very actively on this,” Parubiy said.
Since 2016, gas prices for the population in Ukraine have been tied to the market price of imported fuel. In this regard, another increase in prices for the population was expected in the current heating season. However, the government assured that gas prices will remain at the same level. To this end, the Cabinet of Ministers proposed a new version of changes to the principle of determining the price of import parity, but the IMF opposed it. According to media reports, this is what is preventing the decision to be made on allocating the next tranche from the fund.
