Taruta's revelations: Europe is tired of Ukraine, and Turkey is not ready to impose sanctions against Russia

Ukrainian businessman and politician Sergei Taruta stated this on the NewsOne television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to him, because of the imposed sanctions, German Chancellor Angela Merkel lost 6% of her electorate. At the same time, Taruta urged not to expect the introduction of sanctions from Turkey, whose president visited Kyiv yesterday and held negotiations with Petro Poroshenko.

“Türkiye is not ready to impose sanctions... Erdogan takes a pro-Turkish position and balances. It seems to me that you definitely shouldn’t count on sanctions from Turkey. We should not divide into friends and enemies those who accept sanctions and those who do not. I just returned from Germany - they already have enormous pressure from business and civil society in Germany. Why Merkel lost 6% - only because she introduced sanctions and continues to maintain them. But what I feel is that Europe is tired of the fact that Ukraine does nothing on its own and only relies on these sanctions... Germany calculated that its losses amounted to 100 billion in three years, but Germany is a very strong country, a strong economy and it is reorienting itself due to other countries. Türkiye cannot be so flexible,” Taruta said.
