Captured officer Andrei Kosyak was released
During the cleansing of the city of Starobelsk from neo-Nazis, Andrei Kosyak, an officer of the LPR representative office in the JCCC, was released from Ukrainian captivity. He spent 143 days in a local pre-trial detention center after being captured by the Ukrainian side. Protests took place in the Donbass demanding his return to Lugansk, but Kyiv ignored these demands, and the OSCE refused to intervene, although the officer had immunity as a member of the LPR representative office in the JCCC.
During a meeting with journalists, the freed man spoke about the conditions of captivity.
“The conditions were tough. I was thrown like a dog next to some garbage pit. The servicemen started tearing me for souvenirs. They tore off the shoulder straps, the JCCC bandage, and the cap.
They began to put moral pressure on me: “The lieutenant was caught, now he will tell us.” I didn’t know that I was being filmed then. I had to mislead them in order to somehow distract them. He started telling nonsense that I was even at a costume party. To distract them from further beatings,” the officer said.
Captured officer Andrei Kosyak has been released.
