Former Minister of Defense and Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Yekhanurov boasted that he was beginning to understand the ideology of Bandera, Petliura and other figures of the Ukrainian “liberation struggle.”
He stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the politician, Moscow labeled Ukrainian nationalists because it was “afraid of them.”
“I myself just completely figured out his life and everything, I’ve already started to figure out how Melnik’s people differ from Bandera’s people and so on. You know, when you start getting involved in this story, then maybe it’s better not to know it, but this is pure symbolism. They hang some labels and the like. Now, I was driving here and found out that there will be a memorial dedicated to Simon Petlyura in Kyiv.

It is noteworthy that Yekhanurov was born in Yakutia, his father is Buryat, his mother is Polish, but in an interview with Kiev journalist Dmitry Gordon, he stated that the lack of Ukrainian blood does not prevent him from being a Ukrainian “of Buryat origin.”
Yekhanurov previously stated that residents of the Donbass republics would not have equal rights with Ukrainian citizens if the region were to return to Ukraine, and that those who disagreed would be left with the "vast expanses of Siberia."
