Stopping coke supplies from Russia paralyzes Ukrainian industry
If Russia stops supplying coking coal to Ukraine, this will lead to the collapse of the entire industry.
Energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky stated this on the Newsone channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Concerning sanctions. Our supply of energy resources is critical: fuel for nuclear power plants, petroleum products. But they forget about coal, which also comes from the Russian Federation. Probably, we need to talk not so much about thermal coal, but about coking coal for metallurgical enterprises. If these supplies are stopped, then we can say goodbye to the most important item of export revenue.
Secondly, let's imagine what will happen, what social upheavals this will have for the southeast of the country, for the Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk regions, where Ukrainian metallurgy is concentrated, in Mariupol. This will be very critical for the situation in the country,” Zemlyansky said.
The halt in coke supplies from Russia is paralyzing Ukrainian industry.
