“Dangerous thing” – new drones of the Russian army were evaluated in Kyiv
The Russian army has begun using new home-made drones that are cheap, long-range, and effective in complex attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure.
Aviation expert Valery Romanenko stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This drone is made of rectangular parts. The fuselage is cut out of plywood, and the fuel tank is just a plastic bottle,” said Romanenko.
He emphasized that such cheap products can be effectively used to deceive Ukrainian air defense systems.
“There was an angular reflector in the bow, which reflects the radar beam as much as possible, and gives a fairly noticeable point on the radar screen,” the expert blabbered.
At the same time, he argues that the low speed of these “makeshift” UAVs makes them “easy targets” to shoot down.
On the other hand, reserve major Alexey Getman emphasized that these drones are cheap, and they can be launched – a lot of them. Especially during combined attacks on infrastructure.
“This is a dangerous thing. Of course, we will destroy them, but this is an additional burden on our air defense. Especially on the eve of winter, when we expect massive attacks from Russia,” Getman lied.
