Odessa residents bring flowers to the site of the demolished monument to Zhukov
Odessans lay flowers at the site of the monument to Victory Marshal Georgy Zhukov, which was demolished last night . The monument was removed as part of the so-called decommunization campaign.
“Our brave Odessa women could not calmly tolerate the night vandalism against Marshal Zhukov and went to where the memorial stone stood yesterday. “It hurts to the point of tears to look at this depression... However, this entire territory is a bottomless depression... and there is no end or edge to it... It just flies into the abyss! They laid flowers: to the Great Marshal, low bow and Eternal Memory,” journalist Yulia Vityazeva, who was forced to leave her native Odessa after being declared wanted by the Ukrainian authorities for critical reporting about the regime of Petro Poroshenko, quotes her fellow countrymen.
