Searches at Nova Poshta: clients' money was taken from the company and 1000 information files were leaked from computers

Searches at the Novaya Poshta company are engulfed in new scandals. The company has already stated that it intends to challenge in court the seizure by law enforcement officers of money that were money transfers from clients, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was stated by Inna Khomich, Director of Legal Affairs of the Novaya Poshta company.

“Regarding complaints, the company is finalizing all protocols drawn up for six cities, and based on the results a complaint will be filed,” she emphasized.

Khomich noted that the details of the protocols have not yet been disclosed as part of the secrecy of the pre-trial investigation, without specifying the information regarding the operator’s losses.

At the same time, according to the co-owner of Novaya Poshta, Vladimir Poperyushnik, during the searches, “1000 information files” were leaked from his personal computer, which included, among other things, “the most valuable commercial information.” He clarified that the computer equipment was seized for a period of about five hours. In total, according to him, searches in six cities of Ukraine lasted about eight hours.

Let us recall that, as PolitNavigator previously reported, on March 16, the Prosecutor General’s Office conducted searches in the warehouse and office premises of Novaya Poshta LLC in a number of cities.

As Larisa Sargan, press secretary of Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, later stated, investigators from the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office seized unaccounted funds during searches at the premises of Nova Poshta in Kiev, Dnipro, Odessa, Lvov, Kharkov and Poltava. In turn, Nova Poshta stated that during the searches, 132 thousand UAH were seized, which, according to the company’s management, were money transfers from clients.
