New Year's trips to Sochi and Crimea will rise in price the most
On average, in Russia, tourist trips for the New Year holidays will rise in price by 10 percent, tourist trips to Sochi - by 15-18 percent, and to Crimea - by 10-15 percent.
Ilya Umansky, head of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI) committee for domestic tourism and general director of the national tour operator Alean, announced this at a press conference in Moscow, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“As for prices, they have gone up, price increases have occurred everywhere. If we talk not only about top destinations, such as Sochi, Krasnaya Polyana, then I would say that prices have increased from last year by about 10 percent on average.
If we take Sochi separately, then the price increase there is somewhere in the range of 15-18 percent. Next is probably Crimea, it also stands out somewhat from the overall picture, but simply due to the more limited winter supply.
Unlike Sochi, the price increase there is somewhere in the range of 10-15 percent. But it is obvious that our citizens will have to pay a little more this New Year than last New Year. Prices have gone up,” concluded Ilya Umansky.
