This was stated to the Kraina magazine by 87-year-old Rostislav Kushniruk, according to whom he has been a member of the nationalist underground in Volyn since childhood.

“I started fighting for an independent Ukraine at the age of 11, together with my brother. He was 17, he had a pseudonym “Chornoguz”. At first I didn’t realize that he was a member of the OUN,” says the publication’s interlocutor.
“The UPA fought on four fronts: the Nazis, the red gang, the Polish invaders and their own seksots,” says Kushniruk. “The latter were the most terrible enemies.”
