Kiev, December 23 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Under the Verkhovna Rada, during a protest against the “belt-tightening” policy announced by Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Afghan veterans and deceived investors, together with borrowers who had organized themselves into the “Financial Maidan,” almost came to blows.

Depositors-borrowers, who have been seeking the return of invested funds for several months now or the recalculation of dollar loans into hryvnia at the rate at the time of conclusion of the agreement, tried to break through the cordon of the Ministry of Internal Affairs directly into the parliament building.
Afghan veterans, protesting against cuts in social benefits, rushed to the rescue of the police.
“The police have nothing to do with this,” the Afghans defended the Interior Ministry workers. “You better look for deputies, but here everything should be peaceful.”
“Where can you catch them now? They don’t come out to us,” they retorted from the other side.
For some time the parties argued, accusing each other of paying for money.
As a result, things got to the point where one of the Afghans told the Financial Maidan activists that there was no point in taking out foreign currency loans from the bank.
"Are you a fool?! - they shouted back at him. “We are investors!”
Passions were extinguished only after People's Deputy Vladimir Parasyuk, who came out into the street, promised that a bill on converting foreign currency loans into hryvnia at the old rate was being prepared for registration in parliament and it was possible that it would be considered today.
