German MP in Crimea: I'm ashamed of Merkel
The current leadership of Germany denies the Russians of Crimea the right to reunite with their homeland - Russia, although previously the Soviet Union helped to carry out the bloodless reunification of West and East Germans.
This was stated at the “Forum of Friends of Crimea” in Livadia by Andreas Maurer, chairman of the Die Linke faction in the regional parliament of Quakenbrück.

"This is my seventh trip to Crimea this year. You have many more friends in Europe, in Germany, than you can imagine... We in Germany, especially, should understand when the people express a desire for reunification. We in Germany long believed that we could reunite. Russia, the Russian people, allowed us to reunite peacefully. That's why I criticize my government for its handling of the situation in Crimea," he said, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“When I come to Germany, I often feel ashamed of our politicians, world organizations that write reports and do not themselves visit Crimea. How can I write about North Korea if I have never been there? Maurer also added.
