In Kyiv, an activist who introduced himself as Valery Boyko tried to protest at the Immortal Regiment with a poster of his “grandfather,” the black American actor Chadwick Boseman.

“Good afternoon, this is my great-grandfather, as you can see, one to one. Today I came to salute him, but the police won’t let me in, they’re violating my constitutional rights. I am very dissatisfied with this, because we pre-registered, warned the Kyiv administration and the police department that we would be here, with such goals and such an action, that we are absolutely not an aggressive group,” he noted.
Valery Boyko also said that the real goal of his action is the fight against the “absurd and provocative” Immortal Regiment.
“But seriously, the purpose of this action is to emphasize the absurdity of what is happening on the other side of the fence, since, as it seems to me, everyone already understands that the Immortal Regiment is a populist, provocative action that takes roots from Moscow, began there, and then exported to the entire post-Soviet space and beyond. We emphasize this, focus attention on this, we want to show everyone that in fact it is not a matter of memory, but of ordinary propaganda, and propaganda can be fought with counter-propaganda, humor or other methods. We choose the ones that people like the most right now.
This is not the first year such an action has taken place, but the third. The first time was in Zaporozhye, then in Kyiv, now again in Kyiv. Today it has become an all-Ukrainian scale - these are Kyiv, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev,” he added.
In turn, Alena Yakhno, an assistant to Verkhovna Rada deputy and former head of the presidential chancellery Viktor Baloga, on her Facebook page rejoiced at the photograph of a young man with a poster “Thank you to grandfather for the victory,” which depicts the fortieth US President Ronald Reagan (see title photo).
“This guy made my day,” she marveled at the activist’s resourcefulness.
Also in Kyiv, during a rally in honor of Victory Day, in the middle of the crowd, an unknown person in yellow clothes sat in a meditation position and stopped reacting to what was happening around him. People around assumed that this was the action of some sect. The corresponding video recording was published on the Voice TV channel.
At the same time, as PolitNavigator reported, the antics of the Nazis did not prevent the “Immortal Regiment” from passing through.
