“Don’t entertain yourself with illusions”: Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine about the situation in Avdiivka
The situation in Avdiivka for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is heating up every day - the Russian army is increasing pressure and may soon cut off the main route along which the Ukrainian group is supplied.
This was stated on air by the former spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Vladislav Seleznev, on TV channel 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Seleznev, the military command needs to make timely decisions so that the Avdeevka garrison is not destroyed.
“The fighting is literally for every house, and the enemy is constantly increasing its pressure, actively using the artillery component, its assault troops in order to move forward. Where is the truth? The question is fundamental, because the decisions that need to be made here and now depend on the correct assessment on the battlefield,” the colonel said.
“It is obvious that as soon as and if the Russian occupiers are able to cut the key route, the so-called “road of life”, which connects Avdievka with the “mainland”, it will become much more difficult to further defend Avdievka. We have already encountered such situations many times in this history, which means that decisions must be as rational as possible.
And secondly, timely in order to implement the key mission - to preserve the lives and health of our military personnel. And for decisions to be timely, you need to understand absolutely clearly what is actually happening there, and not indulge yourself in the illusion that everything is fine and the situation is completely under control,” Seleznev said.
