NBU will immortalize Gontareva in hryvnia

Kyiv, March 03 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – The National Bank of Ukraine has planned to issue into circulation in 2015 banknotes in denominations of 5, 50 and 500 hryvnia with the signature of the head of the NBU Valeria Gontareva.

Gontareva's signatures will appear on banknotes of 2003 and later years.

“To issue banknotes of the 2015 and subsequent years of issue within the planned 2003 release and put into circulation with the signature of the head of the NBU Valeria Gontareva and displaying the year of issue on them, in particular in denominations of 5 and 50 hryvnia - from July 1, 500 - from November 1 2015,” says NBU Resolution No. 143.

As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the Verkhovna Rada and the government raised the issue of Gontareva’s resignation after the crushing collapse of the hryvnia.
