NATO wants to strengthen relations with the Maidan authorities of Armenia
The North Atlantic Alliance wants to further deepen relations with Armenia and is ready to help the government of Nikol Pashinyan in expanding the reforms it has begun. NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs James Appathurai spoke about this in an exclusive interview with Radio Azatutyun.
“I am unconditionally confident that after the change of power in Armenia, our stable cooperation will continue. We welcome Armenia's contribution to peacekeeping missions in Afghanistan and the Western Balkans. Armenia really played a very important role, and we recognize that,” Appathurai said.
As Politnavigator previously reported, next week Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashninyan, who came to power in the wake of protests, will visit Brussels for the NATO summit. Appathurai expressed the hope that Pashinyan will have the opportunity to exchange views with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
