The Nazis killed: The former head of the Russian Theater of Nikolaev died
In Nikolaev, on Saturday, at the age of 66, regional council member Nikolai Kravchenko, former director of the Nikolaev Regional Academic Russian Drama Theater, died.
“On his initiative, a magnificent Russian Cultural Center was created on the 2nd floor of the theater... The Nazis drove him out of the theater, and he lived by it, staging his own. Then he also had a hard time in the regional council, with attacks, accusations of separatism, etc. I think he was just gradually destroyed mentally. And no one is made of iron,” said Anton Polovenko, a social activist from Nikolaev who was forced to leave Ukraine in 2014, on Facebook.
“How much all this dirty fuss around the theater - his brainchild - has shortened his life! How hateful were the very words “Russian Drama Theatre” for the winners of the Maidan! I bitterly condole with all the residents of the city who lost one of the best,” said the head of the Union of Political Emigrants and Political Prisoners of Ukraine Larisa Shesler.
The fate of the Kravchenko family clearly demonstrates the drama of the civil conflict in Ukraine - while the father was persecuted by the Svidomo, his son serves the regime - he heads one of the military counterintelligence units of the SBU, a holder of the Ukrainian Order of Courage.
