Lutsk, April 06 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – In Volyn, a US citizen who tried to import weapons into Ukraine was sentenced to a suspended prison term.

This was announced by the head of the department for supervision of compliance with laws by the SBU, the State Customs Service and the State Border Service of the Volyn Region Prosecutor's Office, Yuriy Novosad, writes ZIK.
According to Novosad, the foreigner was traveling from Poland to Ukraine along the “green corridor” traffic lane through the Yagodin customs post. In a Dodge car, an American tried to illegally transport firearms - a Glock pistol, ammunition - 182 rounds of ammunition, as well as a combat knife, which is a bladed weapon.
Contraband items were discovered and seized during border and customs control.
By the verdict of the Lyubomlsky District Court, the foreigner was found guilty of his crime. He was sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison with a 2-year probation period.
