The Kyiv publication TeleKritika writes about this .
The reason for this decision was the violations identified by the regulator. One such violation relates to decommunization laws. In particular, the channel’s broadcast is decorated with the symbols of the Soviet Union (its logo contains images of a hammer and sickle), the daily program “Past Time” contains information from the “Time” programs, and focuses on the achievements of the USSR under the leadership of the Communist Party.
At the same time, the National Council authorized the rebroadcast of the American channel Current Time in our country. This request was made to the regulator by the US Broadcasting Board of Governors (the American government agency that owns Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, etc.).
According to the head of the National Council, Yuri Artemenko, Current Time is an information and analytical channel jointly produced by the Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. It will broadcast 24 hours a day without advertising.
