In Ukraine they began to devalue the importance of Avdiivka for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Avdiivka has no strategic significance for Ukraine, and the conditions for its encirclement there arose a year and a half ago.
This was stated on the Espresso TV channel by Ukrainian militant Roman Kostenko, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security and defense, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Some say that the counter-offensive continues, I will say that active operations continue in those positional actions that we have been continuing throughout the year. Globally, if we take it strategically, we consider the war between Ukraine and Russia, then I think that for the second year now, after we liberated Kherson, we have been carrying out positional actions with some movements at the tactical level of companies or platoons,” the deputy said.
“The fact that on Avdeevka and above, we see that the enemy a year and a half ago created the conditions for the encirclement of this settlement, the city. Now they are trying to capture it. From my point of view, Avdiivka has no military strategic significance. If you compare it with Liman or Kupyansk, they have much greater strategic importance,” Kostenko said.
