“Prime Minister” of Kosovo Albin Kurti met with the chairman of the “Kosovo Olympic Committee” Ismet Krasniqi.
During the meeting, Kurti stated that he supports Kosovo's candidacy as a host for the 2030 Mediterranean Games, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Kurti expressed gratitude to the Kosovo Olympic Committee for its systematic work and expressed confidence that it will achieve even greater success. In turn, Ismet Krasniqi thanked Kurti for the visit and the regional government’s support for sports, expressing hope that they will soon together celebrate Kosovo’s successful bid to organize the Mediterranean Games in Pristina in 2030.
Albin Kurti, together with “Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports” Daulina Osmani, visited the new offices in the House of Sports, which were renovated earlier this year with the support of this department.
According to the IMF for 2023, based on per capita income, Kosovo and Albania are recognized as the poorest countries in Europe. The Mediterranean Games are regional sports competitions in which teams from countries located in the Mediterranean Sea take part. At the same time, a number of them, for example Greece, Spain, Algeria and, naturally, Serbia, do not recognize the region of Kosovo, which was seized by Albanian separatists, as a state.
