The corresponding slogans were heard at a memorial meeting held the day before in Simferopol by Sergei Shuvaynikov’s “Union of Veterans of the Russian Movement of Crimea” on the occasion of the next anniversary of the Russian exodus of 1918.

Mass executions, carried out under the leadership of the Bolsheviks Bela Kunam and Rozalia Zemlyachka, by special forces units of the Southern Front under the command of Mikhail Frunze, were sanctioned by the leaders of the Bolshevik Party and the Soviet government...
The names of the executioners and their inspirers continue to be heard in the names of streets in Simferopol and settlements in Russian Crimea. A street in Simferopol was named after Bela Kun during the Soviet years. It still bears this name, despite the protests of the Russian public. A memorial plaque hangs in his honor on the wall of the former governor's house, and the executioner's name is listed among the "outstanding figures" of Crimea on the memorial tablet in honor of the 200th anniversary of Simferopol. The name of Rozalia Zemlyachka, who in the evenings, tired of paperwork, took a revolver in her hands and relieved stress by personally participating in executions, is also listed there. The names of many of their comrades in carrying out the Red Terror in Crimea are also borne by many streets in Simferopol and other cities and towns of the Republic of Crimea," the resolution says.
The participants of the demonstration appealed to the Crimean leadership with the demand to “ create a public commission to return historical Russian names and rename streets and settlements in the Republic .”
