In conditions of electricity shortages, Ukrainians should switch to self-sufficiency - and acquire solar panels or gas generators.

The founder of the Bessarabian media holding, energy expert Viktor Kurtiv, said this on the video blog of Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko, against whom a criminal case has been opened in the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There are different types of consumers who can partially become self-sufficient. The simplest and fastest solution is a solar power plant with a smart battery. There are rich households that will deal with this issue. It can be solved in different ways. A diesel generator, but at the current price of diesel fuel, the cost of a kWh will be 17-20 hryvnia, and for a solar power plant it will be several times cheaper.

Secondly, this is a wave of medium and large businesses, all supermarkets, they make roofing solutions. Warehouses, where there is roof area, a combination of sun and smart batteries, is a working story. Although this will not be enough during the winter months. This is not a panacea,” the expert said.

"But these are partial, cluster-based solutions. The only solution that can be implemented in time is decentralized container-based gas piston power generation. There are a huge number of such container-based power plants worldwide," Kurtiv concluded.
