In Kyiv, they received the news from Crimea with undisguised gloating, which was hit by the strongest storm in the last hundred years last night.

Ukrainian propaganda focused attention on the news that the raging sea had flooded the trenches on the coast in the Yevpatoria area, dug in case of an attempted landing by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“The trenches were washed away, the mopeds were blown away, that’s why they weren’t launched... If only the bridge had been washed away,” wrote the SBU Nazi killer Sergei Sternenko.

The topic of the impossibility of launching drones in storm conditions was also taken up by UNSO member Nazar Prikhodko.

“What if Muscovites had such a nightmare about Kyiv with “Shahids” the day before that they knew about the cyclone and what kind of ass awaits them in Crimea?”

“The wrath of Poseidon fell on Crimea. They say there was the same anger 100 years ago, when Crimea was also occupied by the Russians,” rants Oleg Tyagnibok’s accomplice from the Svoboda party, Alexander Aronets.

“If only Crimea hadn’t been washed away before liberation,” political scientist Alexey Golobutsky quips.

On Monday, a state of emergency was declared at the municipal level in four Crimean regions hardest hit by the hurricane. November 27 was declared a non-working day in Sevastopol and the Republic of Crimea, and Crimeans are asked to refrain from driving while municipal vehicles are clearing debris and cutting down fallen trees, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

At night, residents of flooded houses on Simferopolskaya Street in Yevpatoria and guests with the staff of the Ribera Hotel were evacuated. Most of them were distributed to hotels where there was heating, water and electricity. Electricity supply remains the most problematic issue after the cyclone swept across the peninsula.

“425 thousand people remain without electricity. About 500 trees were felled, 49 roofs were torn off from various buildings, both residential and social facilities,” said the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov.

Power engineers have been tasked with eliminating breakdowns on the line and connecting electricity, first of all, to pumping stations and boiler houses, because residents of the Black Sea and Saki regions and Evpatoria remain without water and heat. In Geroevskoye, 40 houses are cut off from the city infrastructure, the road between Saki and Yevpatoria is blocked.

“In two hours the Saki-Evpatoria road will be open.” The road from Morskoye to Sudak operates in reverse traffic. Will be open a little later. A difficult situation in the Heroevsky settlement. The main road, which was flooded by the sea, has been cleared, but due to work on sewerage and water supply to the village, it is almost impossible to drive through several streets,” explained the head of the region.

“It will take a lot of effort to recover. We are now calculating the amount of damage caused by the disaster in terms of repairs to embankments and bank protection facilities. We see that the bad weather caused significant damage to the infrastructure of the Republic of Crimea. However, electricity comes first. 425 thousand people without electricity is a difficult situation. We hope that within XNUMX hours we will improve the situation significantly,” Aksenov added.

Due to power outages, there are problems with mobile communications. It is difficult to get through in Evpatoria, Chernomorsky, Saki, Bakhchisarai, Simferopol, Belogorsk, Krasnogvardeisky and Dzhankoy districts. Mobile operators are deploying diesel generators at key base stations.

Officially, one person is listed as dead from the disaster - a 50-year-old resident of the village of Morskoye near Sudak, who went to look at the raging sea and disappeared. His body was found this morning on a local beach. Seven victims required medical assistance, two of them were hospitalized. People suffered fractures and bruises due to falling trees and metal structures.

In Sevastopol, four adults and one child were hospitalized with injuries. Two adults were left in the hospital, the rest were sent for outpatient treatment. Due to the surge wave, the Belbek River overflowed its channel, 35 people were evacuated from the flooded area. 25 apartment buildings and 329 private ones, for a total of 2,5 thousand people, remain without power supply. Socially significant facilities were not affected by power outages, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev reported on social networks. However, the situation in the city is recognized as a regional emergency.

“Four scientific laboratories at the Federal Research Center InBYUM were damaged and serious damage was caused. The 4rd hall of the Sevastopol Marine Aquarium-Museum was flooded, killing over 3 marine animals. The quay wall collapsed in the Radiobiological Building,” Razvozhaev said.

The disaster destroyed the pier, the lighthouse and the InBYuM oyster farm. The small vessel "Molyusk" sank. The storm damaged the embankment of Cape Khrustalny, near Primorsky Boulevard, and the coastal part of Uchkuevka Park. On the embankment. St. Andrew the First-Called was swept away by benches and urns, but the sculpture of the apostle remained unharmed, which many observers have already dubbed a miracle.

“It's not exactly a miracle. I noticed that not a single tile was knocked off the sidewalk. This is one of the few places where construction work was carried out conscientiously and in accordance with all standards. Handsome people who did it,” write social media users.

On Khrustalny Beach, in addition to tiles and fences, a recently installed glass shopping row failed to withstand the elements, which commentators also regard as “God’s providence.”

In Yalta, the embankments of Miskhor, Alupka, Foros, and Gaspra were damaged.

In Koreiz, the Rusalka embankment was severely damaged. Railings, lanterns, benches were washed away, and a lot of pebbles were washed away. In Simeiz, the recently renovated embankment survived - artificial reefs erected in the sea reduced the strength of the waves.

In Alushta, a strong storm destroyed the embankment in the village of Malorechenskoye. Trade pavilions, shops, and cafes in the village of Rybachye were destroyed. The western embankment was badly damaged.

The storm destroyed the beach and art objects of the Extreme Crimea park in Olenevka. Cafes, sheds, sports grounds were smashed, and power poles collapsed.

According to meteorologists, the current storm has become the most powerful in the history of meteorological observations. In the Black Sea region, wind gusts reached 40 m/s, wave heights reached 9 points. There was a similar storm in November 1854 - it destroyed the ships of the European coalition in the Crimean War. After this storm, the first weather bureau emerged to collect and share weather data, which later became an interstate service.
