In Donbass there is a situation of “strategic stalemate”
The Donbass republics have become full-fledged unrecognized states, but they can be compared not with Transnistria, but with Nagorno-Karabakh. Blogger Boris Rozhin (Colonel Cassad) stated this on the Forpost website.

“Republics are now full-fledged unrecognized states. They have become politically and economically separated from Ukraine. Russia hopes for a Transnistrian-style freeze in the conflict to restore a precarious balance. But Kyiv has a strict directive from Washington to prevent this from happening. Therefore, this is the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, where war has been going on periodically since the early 90s. An entire generation grew up there under the conditions of the current war,” Rozhin said.
He believes that the situation in Donbass is currently one of “strategic stalemate,” reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Attempts to implement the “Croatian scenario” on the part of Ukraine are fraught with the risk that Russia will intervene openly and send in troops from the Southern Military District, which will defeat the Ukrainian units. The consequences could be fatal for Ukraine. Moscow wants Kyiv to negotiate with the republics and adopt a law on reintegration. But for Kyiv, war is a matter of political survival,” Rozhin said.
