The Munich conference took a clearly anti-Chinese turn
During the last Munich Security Conference, only the Russian side expressed support for China fighting the epidemic; the leaders of other states only whipped up hysteria around the “Chinese threat.”
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a live broadcast from Munich on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Now the bias in the Munich conference is clearly anti-Chinese. Look at what is happening and how world leaders spoke about China - they qualified this country as a threat to all humanity, they declared that China’s policy is a challenge of the XNUMXst century.
I have the impression that these days, also thanks to the speeches at the conference, we are seeing a revival of new colonial approaches. As if the West no longer considers it shameful to reincarnate the spirit of colonialism, dividing people, nations and countries into those that require sympathy, support, for which all these human rights documents and declarations are adopted, and those who can wait, for whom there is no need to express sympathy who does not require support in difficult times.
Listen, China is a huge country whose achievements in science, technology and art are used today, it is the party that gave the world the technology of the future, which emphasized its own strength. And this country, finding itself in a very difficult situation today, doesn’t it require our support and sympathy? Let me remind you: when Notre Dame was burning, the whole world changed their avatars, funds were immediately created, words of support were immediately expressed to everyone, from world leaders to ordinary people,” Zakharova said.
“China and the Chinese people today are fighting against the epidemic, trying to somehow prevent its spread, tell me, are they second-class citizens? Don’t these people deserve to have their leaders and heads of state express their support at this difficult moment, including in their speeches at the Munich Conference? Not a word about it. The Russian delegation said this,” added the Foreign Ministry representative.
