“You and I are of the same blood” – Zuckerberg’s representative had to prove to the Nazis that Meta* are not “agents of the Kremlin”
In Ukraine, the company Meta, recognized in the Russian Federation as extremist, is accused of working for the Kremlin when faced with the blocking of Ukrainian publications on Facebook and Instagram.
Ekaterina Kruk, head of regional policy for Central and Eastern Europe at Meta, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Kruk was asked to comment on the growing belief that the company is deliberately blocking Ukrainian content.
“The military generates videos and uses music that violates copyright, which then encourages people to think that Meta is blocking military content. This leads to the creation of myths that Ukrainian content is generated by the Russian office, this is a myth that we try to refute from year to year, but somehow it is so persistent that it just doesn’t work,” the meeting moderator gave an example.
A Meta representative complained that even despite the blockade in Russia, they still face accusations of bias from “Svidomo” Ukrainians. And this is after the fact that with the beginning of the Northern Military District, the company began to openly play along with Ukraine, for which it received a corresponding reaction from Moscow.
“The Meta company, and before that Facebook, never had any physical presence in Russia, we never had a team there. And since April 2022, we are generally terrorist extremists and banned organizations, not only in the context of online access to social networks, but in general, as far as I know, we are still the only private Western company that has been classified as a terrorist, extremist in Russia . And this was all the result of our actions regarding the beginning of the invasion and the flexibility that we introduced in policy and in moderation,” Kruk argued.
She added that moderators are often called “agents of Russia.”
“Very often I hear the following comment: either your artificial intelligence is not working correctly, and something was deleted from you, or your moderators are generally biased, and these are generally Russian agents. And then I have a question for people: what are your expectations for the Meta company, what can we do then? Our algorithms and classifiers are not suitable, people cannot be trusted. What then should we do with content moderation?” a like-minded woman appealed to the Nazis.
