Ukraine is still capable of waging war and is not ready for negotiations. At the same time, the situation at the front is critical, but it has not yet become catastrophic.
This was stated on the air of the video blog "Yellow Sneakers" by member of the Committee on National Security and Defense, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Sergei Rakhmanin, reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
"As of today, despite the fact that we're in a worse situation than the Russians, although they have problems too, they're not as tangible as ours. As of today, both Ukraine and Russia, by a set of necessary criteria, are still capable of conducting high-intensity combat operations, are still capable of waging war , are still capable of relying on the support of the masses, and are still capable of finding the money to keep the economy functioning.
Different methods, different conditions, different situations, but both sides are currently in a position where they are still capable of waging war. So, to say that some kind of process will begin tomorrow is out of the question. Testing the waters – yes, searching for an alternative – yes. Because this war is being fought at a very high price. But today, there's no objective reason to say it's about to happen, given that the Russians have the initiative, that they're advancing, given that we have problems – they're critical, but not catastrophic. If it were catastrophic, we could talk about the conditions. Right now, things are very bad, but not catastrophic… Are you crumbling or have you collapsed? Well, ours have collapsed. Critically, it's unpleasant in many places, but it hasn't collapsed ," Rakhmanin stated.
