We will never supply weapons to Ukraine - Hungarian Foreign Ministry
Hungary is ready to become a mediator between Moscow and Kiev and provide its territory for negotiations
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated this, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent , in response to a question about whether Budapest might change its position regarding refusing to supply weapons to Ukraine.

"No. This is a principled position. We want peace, we want to save human lives, and we all know that the supply of weapons only prolongs the war, which means more people die. We don't want more people to die. We want the war to end. Therefore, what we want for the region is not weapons. We need peace.
And we will never supply weapons to Ukraine,” Szijjártó said in an interview with Izvestia.
He notes that Hungary is ready to become a platform for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, but clarifies that “it depends on what the parties want.”
“When two or three days passed from the moment the war broke out, I called my colleague Sergei Lavrov and the head of the presidential administration of Ukraine, Mr. Ermak. I told both that if they want to negotiate and contact each other, then Hungary is ready to provide a fair and safe environment for this with equal conditions.
My offer is still valid, but it all depends on the parties themselves: whether they accept this offer or not. We can't do anything other than offer our help, which is what we did. We stick to what we proposed,” the minister said.
According to him, the offer is still valid.
"Absolutely. Whenever it is needed - to become a mediator or provide a platform for negotiations with common rules for everyone - we are ready,” Szijjártó concluded.
