Mozgovoy: New Russia troops must reach Kyiv and punish Poroshenko
Kyiv, August 26 (Navigator, Yuri Kovalchuk) - Supporters of Novorossiya will not be satisfied with autonomy - they must fight until complete victory, said one of the leaders of the pro-Russian rebels of Donbass, Alexey Mozgovoy, in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.

“In my opinion, autonomy will not give us anything. If we take a step towards it, then under what conditions will it be created? After all, the government of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada, and the president will remain the same. What good will this autonomy be if they still won’t let Novorossiya breathe? This will be an empty formality. After all, autonomy does not give the right to have our own army, which means we will not have our own law enforcement agencies or judicial system. Such autonomy will be needed only by those who are planning to leave the current Kyiv government. We are for complete separation from Ukraine.
We are told that this is prohibited by law. But under what legislation? Ukraine, from which we want to separate? European legislation? Who is she? USA? Why should we, a free people, listen to them? Only we have the right to decide the question: how we should live. Neither The Hague nor anyone else - the OSCE, PACE - should interfere in this,” says the commander.
Mozgovoy also said that he assesses the situation at the front as consistently difficult and does not expect a radical change in the coming months.
“I still assess the situation critically: both in terms of military confrontation and politically. Despite media reports about our offensive, the unequal balance of forces remains the same. We just learned a little how to fight, so we make ourselves known more than we did yesterday and the day before. Today we can capture enemy equipment and hit harder, but, again, I repeat, fundamental changes have not yet occurred.
We have a very big difference in military strength. For example, the same personnel are missing. There are 10 thousand people arrayed against us, but we only have a thousand, the same with military equipment. Of course, I would like for us to have an equal balance of forces, then we could argue.
In winter, nothing will change, it will only get colder. I think that even stopping gas supplies will not lead to a cessation of hostilities. In any case, from our side this is impossible until the Kiev government is overthrown and destroyed in the same way as the civilian population of Donbass is now being destroyed. I repeat once again that we are not fighting with ordinary people, but we need to get to Kyiv. We must punish those who are destroying our country and its population today. But we, Ukrainians fighting against each other, are one single whole. This is the only reason why these creatures do not have the right to life,” says Alexey Mozgovoy.
