A Moscow court arrested the ex-Prosecutor General of Ukraine and Tyagnibok's ally in absentia
The Basmanny District Court of Moscow arrested the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Oleg Makhnitsky and his first deputy Nikolai Golomsha in absentia.

This was reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent with reference to the press service of the Sledkom of the Russian Federation.
“At the request of the investigator of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the Basmanny District Court chose a preventive measure in absentia in the form of detention in relation to Kravchenko and Priymachuk. Previously, a similar preventive measure was taken in absentia against Makhnitsky and Golomsha,” the statement says.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation clarified that they are suspected of being in office and in 2014 “gave obviously illegal instructions to conduct a pre-trial investigation” against the commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, Alexander Vitko. At the same time, the criminal prosecution of Vitko in the RF IC is called political.
“The criminal investigation continues,” the department added.
It is noted that Russian law enforcement officers charge suspects with committing a crime under Article 299 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (bringing a knowingly innocent person to criminal liability or illegally initiating a criminal case).
Oleg Makhnitsky became prosecutor general immediately after the coup in Ukraine in 2014 under the quota of the nationalist VO “Svoboda”.
