Marines in Crimea practice landing and assault on the coast
Marines of the Black Sea Fleet are practicing coastal assault and landing from helicopters in full combat uniform. This was reported by the press service of the Black Sea Fleet, a PoitNavigator correspondent reports.
About 400 marines from a separate airborne assault battalion of the Black Sea Fleet Marines are involved in the exercises.
“During the training, military personnel perform parachute jumps from a Mi-8 helicopter from a height of up to 800 meters in full combat gear with fall stabilization for 3 seconds and manual parachute deployment, both during the day and at night. Also, at airborne training camps, units conduct exercises during which they practice techniques and skills for landing a tactical airborne assault force from a low-flying helicopter from a height of 2-3 meters in full combat gear,” the message says.
The military also practice standards for assembling troops at a designated point after landing and performing a 5- and 10-kilometer march in full combat gear.
