An 18-year-old Kiev woman handed over to the police an experienced robber, who also tried to rape her. Everything happened in the Svyatoshinsky district of the Ukrainian capital.

Around midnight, an 18-year-old girl came out of the Akademgorodok metro station, talking on her mobile phone, when a stranger suddenly snatched the iPhone 6 from her hands. The girl managed to notice and remember the face of the attacker and called the police. They arrived quickly: the girl described the thief, wrote a statement, and, using a special program, blocked her iPhone so that the robber could call only one number.
After some time, the robber called the girl and offered to buy her smartphone for 5 thousand hryvnia. The Kiev woman bargained with him and conducted negotiations, which she reported to the police. This went on for a week: then the robber himself invited the girl to meet to return her phone for 4 thousand hryvnia. Before this, the girl had already transferred 1,5 thousand hryvnia to his card, but did not receive the phone number.
The girl agreed to the meeting and brought the police with her, who were hiding nearby to catch the thief in the act: he himself called her a taxi and made sure that there was no “tail”. In the forest park area of the Pechersky district, under the cover of darkness, he finally decided to hand over the phone: the man put it on a tree, having previously removed fingerprints from it. The victim had already taken the phone, but then the thief discovered that the amount was incomplete - less than 4 thousand hryvnia - and again snatched the phone from her. After that, he took off the girl’s gold jewelry and tried to rape her.
The man was immediately detained by law enforcement officers. During the arrest, the robber tried to escape: masterfully and quickly overcame the “obstacle course” of the forest park area, deftly jumped on the roofs of garages, injuring himself in the process.
Already at the regional department, he initially denied his involvement. Before this, as it turned out, the criminal spent 11 years behind bars. At the time of the robbery of the girl and attempted rape, he was already considered a suspect for committing a robbery in the Solomensky district of Kyiv. But during the pre-trial investigation, his wife paid 24 thousand hryvnia as bail, taking out a bank loan for this, so the husband walked free.
Criminal proceedings have been opened under the articles “Robbery” and “Forcible gratification of sexual passion in an unnatural way.” The article's sanction for robbery provides for up to six years in prison, and for attempted rape - up to five years. He is currently being held in custody and an investigation is underway.
