Moldovan farmers demand an urgent solution to the problem with the supply of products to Russia
Chisinau, July 24 (Navigator, Petr Alekseev) – Moldovan farmers are demanding "immediate solutions" to overcome the ban on exporting their products to the Russian market. This was stated by Alexandru Slusari, Chairman of the Moldovan Agricultural Producers' Union Uniagroprotect, following a meeting with Prime Minister Iurie Leanca.

“90% of exported fruits go to Russia. The same proportion for the supply of plums. The losses will be significant. We need immediate solutions that will improve the situation now,” he said.
Slusari added that the estimate of losses of $150 million made by the Ministry of Agriculture is close to the truth, Moldnews reports.
Meanwhile, Moldovan agricultural producers took part in protests against the fruit embargo.
According to the vesti.md portal, a demonstration took place in Ataki the day before, in which 400 local farmers took part. Protesters said that products that were intended for export to the Russian Federation are spoiling in the fields and losses already exceed millions of lei.
People warn that if the authorities do nothing, they will block the national highway leading from Ocnita to the customs post.
Since June 21, Russia has stopped all imports of fruit from Moldova. According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the decision was made after a number of violations that were identified during the supply of products. A few days earlier, supplies of Moldovan canned fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation were prohibited.
