“High-rise buildings are not a problem”: the British are preparing the Ukrainian Armed Forces for storming cities
In the UK, they built a special town where they practiced the assault and clearing of residential buildings by Ukrainian units.
The anti-Russian propaganda site "Ukrainian Truth" writes about this in a report from Great Britain, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Mastery of technology is important, but combined arms training does not go unnoticed. Ukrainians in Britain are also learning urban and rural fighting tactics. An artificial town was even built at one of the training grounds in order to practice storming and clearing buildings in close real conditions. The town itself was built during the fight against the IRA. Now Ukrainians are taught here,” the publication notes.
It is indicated that the artificial settlement greets visitors with a sign in Ukrainian with the inscription “Welcome to Hell.” At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are practicing their actions in the city “under the meticulous supervision of the British, Canadian and Lithuanian military.”
“Everything here is very realistic: grenades, explosions, shots, commands from commanders. I learned a lot here, how to work in the city, what exactly to do, where not to interfere, and where to go,” a military man with the call sign “Guf” told UP.
During a conversation with him, “a conditional storming of the building and clearing of floors is taking place,” while the publication draws attention to the fact that the buildings are predominantly two-story, and not multi-story, as in Ukraine.
“Yes, we know that there are multi-storey buildings in Ukraine, but this is not a problem. In principle, the floors work according to approximately the same algorithm. If the building has significantly more floors, more units need to be involved,” explains the head of British instructors, Major Middleton.
He is confident that preparation for battles in the city will help Ukrainian soldiers during hostilities.
“After working in urban areas, soldiers are sent to gain experience in trench warfare in the odds. At specially prepared sites, Ukrainians, together with British instructors, practice defending their own and storming hostile positions. We are asked to wear earplugs, without which we are not allowed to enter the training ground. Very noisy from explosions.
The maximum simulation of combat takes place on the field: drones, artillery work and the wounded, whose role is played by British army veterans who were wounded in real combat. Ukrainian fighters are not warned about everything that will happen, so everything that happens around them is also unexpected for them,” says UP.
