Simferopol, March 03 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The Russian Federation is not against a Turkish unofficial delegation visiting Crimea, but not through the territory of Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced this at a press conference in Bratislava on Saturday.

“As for the desire of Turkish representatives to visit the Republic of Crimea, we know about this, President Erdogan spoke about this in conversations with President Putin, we actively supported their trip, you are welcome. The only thing that became an obstacle to the trip, which was planned two months ago, was the persistent desire of this unofficial delegation to travel to the Republic of Crimea through Ukraine. For obvious reasons, if this appeal is addressed to the Russian Federation with a request to provide assistance in visiting Crimea, then you need to use the normal appropriate route,” the minister noted.

“We have communicated this position to our Turkish partners,” Interfax quotes Sergei Lavrov as saying.
