The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the threat of Ukrainian missile firing over Crimea
The Ukrainian authorities need a provocation with the announcement of missile firing in Russian territorial waters near Crimea in order to retain the United States as their main patron. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.

“The so-called exercises with missile launches are another large-scale provocation by the Ukrainian authorities. It is aimed at escalating the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. The calculation was for a harsh reaction from Russia. “I do not rule out that the fact is that after Donald Trump’s victory, Kyiv wants by all means to retain the United States as its main patron,” Zakharova said.
In her opinion, this is not an easy task.
“They behaved absolutely boorishly towards the presidential candidate and allowed themselves direct insults. Do you remember how they later tried to delete the posts from social networks. How can you entrust the management of the country to people who cannot even be responsible for their pages on social networks,” Zakharova said.
She also recalled that Ukraine “at the most inopportune moment greatly complicated the work of Donald Trump’s campaign headquarters by leaking information that the head of the campaign allegedly received money from Ukrainian oligarchs.”
“The attempt to play the victim is a proven trick that brings good dividends. He worked for many years. Why not repeat it? Now the new establishment should feel sorry for her,” Zakharova said.
She also believes that Kyiv needs a new round of complications in the conflict situation in order to divert attention from the worsening economic, political and social crisis in the country.
