Changing moods: Books by Oles Buzina became a hit in a Kyiv prison
Oles Buzina's online community has donated a collection of the writer's works to the Lukianivske pretrial detention center in Kyiv. The books were transferred to the prison at the request of not just political prisoners, but criminal suspects.
The fact is that against the backdrop of the collapse of the standard of living of the “new Europeans” that followed the Euromaidan, the authority of political prisoners who fought against the Maidan and its consequences sharply increased among the inmates.

During walks, people increasingly approach the so-called "Obolon terrorists" (who threw a grenade at the Right Sector headquarters in September 2015 ) to shake hands. One thing leads to another, and conversations turn to Buzina. People ask where and how they can read his works.
The editor-in-chief of the Author's Community Site, Ivan Slavinsky, became aware of the prisoners' aspirations. He handed over a set of books by Oles Buzina to the pre-trial detention center. With the exception of “The Ghoul of Taras Shevchenko,” the entire shooting range of which was sold out. As soon as the writer’s most famous work is completed, copies of the book will also be given to the prisoners.
All other books are distributed among the cells for oral reading aloud, discussion and subsequent note-taking. “Torn off with your hands,” report the “distributors” of literary wealth, “Obolon terrorists.” In a few weeks the chambers will exchange books. By this time, the “Ghoul” will also be handed over to the prisoners.
At the same time, the Brazilian volunteer of the LPR, Rafael Lusvarghi, who is sitting in Lukyanovka, received a Bible in Portuguese from... the Ukrainian diaspora in Argentina.
November 14th is the Brazilian's birthday. Like-minded political prisoners have already ordered an exclusive congratulatory poster calendar for him from the printing house with a photo of his favorite football club, Palmeiras, from Rafael’s hometown of Sao Paulo.
