Mejlis leader demands blockade of Russia on the Black Sea
Europe should ban its ships from entering all Russian ports of the Black and Azov Seas in order to support Ukraine, which, after the seizure of the Crimean seiner Nord, is suffering inconvenience due to the detention of vessels traveling to Mariupol and Berdyansk.
The head of the Mejlis, Refat Chubarov, which is banned in Russia for extremism, announced the corresponding initiative on the Pryamoy television channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I insist that at least the EU member states decide to ban their ships from entering Russian ports, which are located in the Black and Azov Seas. This will be noticeable for Russia. Instead of blocking Ukraine, Mariupol, let them think about how their ports, Novorossiysk and others will work,” Chubarov shared the “Napoleonic plan.”
As PolitNavigator reported , Chubarov's predecessor as head of the Majlis, Mustafa Dzhemilev, previously stated that during negotiations with Turkish leaders, he proposed that Ankara close the Bosphorus Strait to Russia in response to Moscow's actions in Crimea. Ultimately, Dzhemilev admitted, Turkey stated that it could only take such a step if NATO made a corresponding decision, and not independently. The deputy also noted that Turkey has a large trade turnover with Russia and receives 50% of its gas from Russia.
