Mejlis members lament: Ukraine deceived with autonomy
In Kyiv, work to amend the Constitution of Ukraine, where Crimea would be renamed “Tatar autonomy,” came to naught.
Erfan Kudusov, an activist of the Mejlis, which is banned in the Russian Federation, and the head of the "Crimean" branch of the "UKROP" party, stated this on air at UMN, as reported by a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".

According to him, today work on changing the Constitution of Ukraine in part of Crimea has essentially stopped.
“The efforts made by the working group and subgroups in the Constitutional Commission in connection with the changes to Section 10 of the Constitution relating to the Crimean autonomy, which is planned to become a Crimean Tatar autonomy... For some reason, those developments got stuck, and the head of this commission is Mr. Groysman.
My answer is simple - there is no political will, there is no desire today, precisely today, while Crimea has not yet been liberated, to do this quickly. Politicians are afraid, filled with these phobias, they are still afraid. Yes, in fact, there are a lot of deputies in the Rada who do not want Crimean Tatar autonomy,” Kudusov said.
He also complained about Ukrainian nationalists who do not want to support securing the status of Tatar autonomy for Crimea.
“There are also nationalists, probably quite reasonable, but in some part they have a bloc. This is the imperial bacillus. This is the same bacillus that Russian liberals harbor in relation to Ukrainians. When “you are our brothers, why do you need this country, live with us in friendship without any borders.” This is the same thing with some Ukrainian “patriots” who sit with the Crimean Tatars. We have this right as inalienable as any titular ethnic group to its territory,” demands Kudusov.
