Mejlis member Muzhdabaev put on international wanted list
The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia charged in absentia Russian citizen Aider Muzhdabaev, who fled to Ukraine, with calls for terrorism.
The press service of the Investigative Committee reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“He is charged with using the Internet to make public calls for terrorist activities and publicly justify terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigation established that on the territory of Ukraine, Muzhdabaev posted two text materials on his personal page on the social network Facebook, which contained calls to commit violent actions and seize by force citizens of the Russian Federation located on the territory of Ukraine, for their subsequent exchange for a convicted person in Russia for the terrorist crimes of Oleg Sentsov,” the message says.
The Investigative Committee also added that Muzhdabaev was put on the international wanted list, and the investigation has prepared all the necessary materials for his arrest in absentia.
Let us remember that Aider Muzhdabaev began his career as a journalist in Russia. Since 1998, he worked in the editorial office of the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets in Moscow, and since 2008 he has been deputy editor-in-chief. In 2015, he fled to Ukraine, taking the position of deputy general director of the Majlis TV channel “ATR”.
