The Mejlis “shares the grief” of Ukrainians for those killed in the downed Il-76
Simferopol, June 16 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars expresses sincere condolences to the families and friends of those killed in the crash of the Il-76, shot down by the militia in Lugansk.

This is stated in a statement by the Majlis, published on the official website of the national body.
“On behalf of the Crimean Tatar people, we confirm our deep solidarity with the Ukrainian people and share their grief.
The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, being committed to non-violent methods of struggle for the rights and interests of the Crimean Tatar people, expresses firm confidence in the need for an exclusively peaceful resolution of the conflict in eastern Ukraine,” the text of the statement says.
At the same time, the Mejlis calls on Ukraine and the Russian Federation, as well as international organizations, to “immediately take all possible actions provided for by international law to combat terrorism and ensure the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.”
“We condemn any manifestations of terrorism and other actions that lead to the death of military personnel and civilians,” assure the leaders from Schmidt Street.
