As it became known, this was precisely the reason for the departure of its editor-in-chief, the prominent Odessa journalist Valeria Ivashkina, from the project. Ivashkina, in turn, did not give an official explanation about her departure, referring on her page on the social network Facebook only to the impossibility “in the current situation in the country, to build a publication that would meet my professional principles.”
It also became known that the majority of the publication’s staff also left Otkat along with Ivashkina. The daily audience of the portal, according to Ivashkina, we note, was 10-25 thousand unique users.
Let us remind you that City Council deputy Gennady Chekita also ran for the post of Odessa mayor on May 25 of this year (he took 4th place, after Gennady Trukhanov, Eduard Gurvits and Valery Matkovsky with a result of 4%).
